Software solves problems for people. Otherwise, people will not use WordPress or any other software product. It must help them achieve a goal faster and easier compared to other solutions. It’s ultimately the value that certain code provides that makes it useful. Definitely not the volume – lines of code, commits, contributors, etc. Do more engineering and write less code. When I say “code” I mean production code. Throwing code all the time is like sketching. Do it whenever you have an idea. Test it and watch it fail. Learn from it. Or throw in code that breaks your production code. Learn from that experience! Learning comes from mistakes, not success.
